creative faith formation resources to savor every liturgical season
THE JESUS QUESTIONSIn the gospels, Jesus asks over 300 questions. In every situation, Jesus had a specific and thoughtful question to ask every potential disciple. Questions such as: Why are you so afraid? (Mark 4:40) Who do you say I am? (Mark 8:29) What do you want? (John 1:38) Do you love me? (John 21:16).
For this engaging and participatory study, each person draws one question to reflect on for a week. Then, gather with others and share your thoughts, ideas, and prayers. Study questions are provided for each Jesus question to help deepen reflection. |
every little lightA Haiku for Every Sunday - Advent through Pentecost
In 2018, I created a practice called Haiku Bible Study. This study drew inspiration from the Revised Common Lectionary. Looking for the common theme of the four gathered texts, it invited creative engagement by writing a haiku that captured the heartbeat of the four scriptures. This book is a collection of my best attempts over the course of 9 years. Included with the introduction are instructions for Haiku Bible Study. Use the book to deepen your reflection on scripture, or write your own weekly haiku and use my attempts as a reference. |

THE REASON LOVE REACHESPoems for Lent
Lent is a 40-day season in the church calendar that calls us to confess all the ways we wander and get lost. Then, to turn toward the God who loves us. Every human heart has a homing beacon inside. We can sense the true Center when we become still and silent. But sometimes, we get so lost, we feel hopelessly disoriented. This book is a collection of poems for the season of Lent. Forty poems - one for everyday. Inspired by Scripture, each poem will shed light on your path as you journey your way home. |
Read these poems about davidIn this story, David is the recipient of God’s choosing and promises. This focused favor is what the bible calls grace.
Grace has nothing to do with being a good person, being perfect, trying hard or even trying at all. The favor poured out on David is a pure and unmerited gift. David, aware of his unworthiness responds with an sincere prayer of profound humilty and gratitude. Many people over the years have prayed prayers like David. They too know their brokenness and search for words to express the grace they’ve been given. In the end, they find fitting only one – amazing. |
